As a 10 year old I saw my dad lace up a pair of shoes and start running for the first time.  At that age anything your dad does is the coolest thing in the world so I decided to join in on his new hobby.

Fast forward a few years and I am a below average XC runner facing a predicament: walk away from running out of frustration or use my teenage angst as fuel to the pending fire.

I flipped a switch and turned that angst into a new found love for a sport called Triathlon.  I became obsessed with my bike, ran triple the volume of previous summers, and tought myself how to swim laps.  Pandora’s box of endurance sports had been opened and along with it my 5K became 3 minutes quicker in the span of a few months.

For the remainder of high school I would finish all my school work as quickly as possible so I could search all things triathlon, consume as much training and science information as time would allow before the next bell, and to make sure there was no homework to interfere with that afternoon’s training schedule.

Fast forward to college and I would take this obsession further by studying exercise science and psychology while competing on one of the first varsity style men’s triathlon programs in the US.  As a freshman I had my first coaching success as I wrote the program that helped my dad qualify for the Boston Marathon, something he was unable to achieve for the previous 8 years. The feeling I had that day was better than anything I had experienced previously in sports.

Throughout my collegiate experiences my passion for coaching would blossom and along the way I planted the seeds that would eventually spark my professional coaching career.  In the spring of 2020, I would graduate college from the comfort of my childhood home. Having been freshly sent home from school due to the pandemic I would send a persuasive email making my case to return to my former team not as an athlete, but this time as an assistant coach.

Fast forward again to a promotion to head coach, and several national championships to go along with it, and somewhere through the years my student-athletes put a name to my training and coaching style.

They started calling it “The Miles Method” or just “The Method.”

After years of talking about it I have finally decided to be about it and start my own coaching business/brand. I would like to formally welcome you to “The Method Endurance Coaching.”

I’ve dedicated my life to this pursuit and now I’ll use that same dedication to help you find your own method.
